Does Mr Laid Back or other Kingston-types have a suggested 200km perm to ride out via? Otherwise, Emma was considering using the first ~150km of the KWCC 600km route (maybe as a route-check?) as a starting point.

I'm hoping to get along  :) Will bring this up at our Feb ACB meeting and try and drum up some interest to join you again... We may look at using the same out and back 200s we rode at the 2015 meet up :

I ended up on the train while HK finished a 200 DIY to the 2016 meet. I think we're up for riding to the Salisbury weekend, if the weather isn't apocalyptic. We've got a room booked at any rate.
Wheel meet again, don't know where, don't know when...

Yes, happily we do, and you are welcome to join us from Kingston Bridge at 7am. Veloboy welcome too...and anyone else interested?

Route here: https://www.strava.com/activities/872589663 but beware the comedy off-road bit after Henley, easily avoided, we're not planning to make that mistake again!

Great thanks for that Rich, we'd love to join you.

Just bought some virtual brevet cards. Quick question are you doing a mandatory route DIY, or what are your nominated controls? Thanks!

I'm out. I found out today that work is sending me overseas for 2-3 weeks on Thursday. HK is still going though.

The time is almost upon us, I can barely contain my excitement.

Can I make an early appeal to stay in the pub for dinner (rather than go to that Indian) then at 9 or thereabouts when the DJ cranks up the volume and the young ones start going on heat, we retire gracefully to the Haunch of Venison to drink malt whisky and talk about spokes.

I'd recommend the Wyndham Arms - the birthplace of Hopback beers https://www.hopback.co.uk/our-pubs/the-wyndham-arms/

Outstanding weekend. Cheers Postie and Wheelman Kev for your company. Managed to alternate cycling with drinking excellent beer in pub from the far past, then more cycling then. beer accompanied by a mummified hand. Did I dream that last bit?

Yes -a great trip. Always good to be in the rareified presence of Audaxing Royalty -they know who they are. Thanks again to Rich for organising and Sarah, Chris and Tandem Things for having me along on the rides.

Even better than last year! If you were tempted by this but didn't make it along, then make a mental note not to miss it next year. wonderful to see El Supremo.
Chilly 200k ride to get there - but beer back on when I arrived. :)
