Perhaps Andy the Beer Bitch should start checking photo ID to guard against under age drinking.

I've just remembered, those of you who weren't present yesterday evening won't have seen the BB's new order pad!  He has it on long term loan from one of the establishments he visits in his other professional capacity.

Oh, yes, that was the other noteworthy point, jibers managed to take a photo of the BB smiling!  Or perhaps it was just wind.

With that age profile I'm thinking that I should apply to join the club's junior section

You`ll be sat all by yourself in the creche.

I think he was really chuffed with his new idea (plus a bit of wind)

at some point on a road somewhere riding an event - so yes, a parallel universe

You told me you had an old fixed bike somewhere that you would dust down if you could find the parts.  I suppose if you had it in your 30s or 40s it would be a fairly vintage machine now.

We worked out yesterday evening 'fandango was the 4th oldest MEMWNS / ACME rider.  From memory it goes something like this:

Tomsk (oldest) - 60 this year
Grey Sheep - 60 sometime next year
BFC - 54 next January
'fandango - 54 on 7th February
Me - 54 on 27th February

Jesus, there goes my excuse for being slower than Carlos.... I though you were all younger. I am a mere 51. Tomsk must have made cut a deal with the devil to remain so ageless...

But bear in mind that Tomsk does make sacrifices. All that hanging upside down in a wardrobe instead of sleeping in a bed isn't easy you know.

I thought it was the herbs... I hear he's been seen at full moon with a druids scythe tracking down wolfbane and poppy on banks of the Chelmer....

Good thing I am not actually in ACME as it saves me from making a declaration in the oldies chart!

I'd like to think it was clean living and a pure heart, but the truth is I chose my parents wisely...

I wonder if it will squeak like the original C17 (mine is from the rubber bottom rubbing on the rails iirc )

Yes, luckily it did not come with a mask and I won't be wearing rubber lycra anytime soon....I think  ;D

There seems to be a pretty large gap between the rails and the rubber upper but obviously that may change when my fat arse is applied. The Rails are also coated in some form of 'black stuff' and the bits that were metal on the original cambiums are now 'plastic'

Paging Tomsk & other Dunmow residents........

Is this bit all cyclable from Woodside Way to B1008?  (planning to use it as part of my ECE for RE100 )

Yes-ish... the last bit linking Woodlands Park with Godfrey Way is an old byway, which can be muddy. However I use Woodlands Park Drive and Willow Road regularly - there's paved footpaths through to Downs Crescent then Godfrey Way. Shows up better on the satellite image.

I might do a little route check over there tonight then... could do with some fresh air!

Ah well, there goes my plans of a nice easy 7am train to Ipswich. I've just put in an ECE application riding up to Blaxhall and then back to Ipswich after the event. I like being on the Road early anyway!.... ;D

Does anybody know if Tomsk still has a small ACME jersey available? Martin is after one and I can deliver to him on Sunday.
