Bach without a doubt. Bach every time for me. Oh, and Palestrina.
I would never sneer at someone for liking old J.S, for not liking him perhaps.
I think you'll find it's a bit more complicated than that.

I'm partial to the odd Buck's Fizz and Dollar tune, due to their links with Pete Sinfield out of King Crimson and Trevor Horn respectively.

I think it's time I declared my love for Shakin' Stevens. I love you, Shaky.

I also love most 80s pop (but absolutely not Kylie), Take That, 5ive and Girls Aloud. The only Mika song I like is Grace Kelly.

I'm stunned that the usual suspects have not been mentioned.

Katie Melua
James Blunt (seen him live twice, but I did get free tickets)
Jamie Cullum
Michael Buble

According to Viz, "James Blunt" is now rhyming slang.

When I was much younger, a group of friends and I did something very bad to Chris De Burgh's website. It was so bad it got into the Sun's Bizarre Showbiz column. One day I'll dig out the cutting and scan it in to show you all.

As you might expect my musical tastes are generally impeccable.  ::-)  ;D

However I do have a fondness for even the strangest and self-indulgent of Todd Rundgren's stuff.

And I possess 2 B52s cds.  ???
There's no vibrations, but wait.

I used to have a couple of his albums & have seen him in concert a few times. His early stuff is not at all bad, the "Lady In Red" schmaltz made more money, that's all. He was a good friend of one of the local Radio City DJ's Phil Easton who sadly died a few weeks back.  A great influence on (some) of my musical tastes..

My first 2 gigs, Chris de Burgh & The Boomtown Rats, no wonder I grew up strange....

Looks round at huge pile of LP's & CD's.   Bach to Black Sabbath, Thelonious Monk to This Mortal Coil....Arvo Part to Pet Shop Boys...Chris de Burgh to Cocteau Twins...

All music is good to someone at some time.

I can even sing along to Abba.....

Nowt wrong with that. Their early stuff like Rock Lobster and Private Idaho are great.

Nowt wrong with that indeed...particularly if they are Cosmic Thing and Good Stuff....they are indeed damn good stuff to shake your honeybuns to! Just before last years Funplex came out I finally got round to buying the boxset of some of their earlier stuff too...also very good.

Soft Cell (and Marc Almond) are class - nothing to be ashamed of there.

I will admit to having a penchant for Dolly Parton and Bette Midler.

Does Robyn count?

Girls Aloud are the best pop group around.  If you listen to the "production" they (well, their writing team) have used lots of ideas and sounds from "underground" electronic and dance music.  The songs on top of this are usually catchy, as well.
We have them on in the car!
