Put it in a sealed box with hot rice. Best of both worlds.

Feanor, try putting it in a sealable container and fill the remaining space with rice. The rice can absorb some of the water.

We have the incompatible:
  • Kim takes things out of her pockets before almost always putting in laundry basket.
  • Barakta tends to leave clothes in indeterminate clean/notclean state in various stupid places and does pocket checking at the mouth of the washing machine itself!

Kim does all the laundry, because she has a SystemTM which disturbance of incurs her wrath.  Kim may collect clothes from round the house to fill up a load...  Cue my ex Nokia 7250i having been washing machined twice (and survived)...

In my defense I different sets of clothes on the go due to work/home/cycling etc at any one time.

On account of it being an unseasonably hot day here, I left the thing in a partly-disassembled state out in the sun all day.
It was hot to touch!

All re-molished, and it seems to be none the worse for it's swimming lesson.

A close one, I think.

Dear self:

Why are you even bothering to engage with a committed Republican on your FB feed??  The fact that as a lesbian she ought to know better is beside the point!  She's already proven her rabid anti-anything-remotely-liberal views a few times, so why on earth do you try to provide evidence for what you post??

It would be nice if the comedy programmes Radio 4extra were actually funny.  Also, someone needs to let them know comedians don't always good continuity announcers.   ::-)

Oh, hang on, that's not R4 Extra.  It's R4 proper.

Kill it and everyone involved.  Quickly.

Oh I dunno.  R4extra is sort of hilariously amateurish, and quite engaging.  I went through the agony of fitting a DAB radio to my car, largely for R4extra.

I do get fed up with BBC not sticking to the roles for each station.  When I tune to R3 I expect to hear music, R4 I expect to hear discussion or maybe comedy.  Often I hear discussion on R3 and music on R4, and I'm confused.  Please stick to your subjects!  R4 always has agressive politicking* when I'm driving to work, I don't want that, I want something light hearted, so R4 Extra often fills that need.

EDF Energy, it would probably be quicker for me to walk, swim or cycle to your offices in that Exeter, given that you never answer your phones, your "live chat" operators have obviously all fucked off home to google the Countess of Strathearn's tits, and you aim to respond to emails within ten days. Meanwhile, your meter reader came the other day and has read the meter incorrectly, landing me with a gas bill for the last quarter of more than it was in the past 12 months. Idiots.

Drivers!  FFS!  Just because the car in front of you moves does not mean that it's safe (or indeed that there's even space) for you to do the same!  Seriously!  Please to be reading the highway code, particularly the sections about give way lines, box junctions and yielding to oncoming traffic.  Once you've got the hang of those, we can proceed to advanced topics such as the colour of traffic lights and not being a cock around cyclists.

(It must be September)

That explains...the windscreen washing liquid in the face, the deliberate cutting up and the overtake as I turned at a right hand filter...all in the last mile coming home today (and all different drivers...the last hurling abuse at me from his camper van).

I knew this thread would come in handy one day...feel much better now. Hope I haven't crossed the line into rant territory. Thanks for listening

Seller of Abus lock on another forum: if I had mistakenly sent the lock without keys, I would have sent them first class in a padded envelope and paid the right postage. Sending them second class in a flimsy envelope and not with a large stamp on doesn't strike me as a very good way of righting your error to me.

Oh, and BBC? I thought you were known for facts?

Helen Skelton did not 'cycle to the south pole by bicycle'. She didn't even cross from the coast to the South pole, but was flown over the mountains. She covered about 500miles, only 100miles of that on a bike.

ffs

You know I'm really tempted to plan for doing Antarctic coast - south pole by bike when kids have left home and I'm rich enough (hah!). Moonraker bike and custom extrawheel for supplies.

Anyone want to join me?
