I'm thinking of buying booze in Hatty P rather than shaking it up for an hour on the bike and having it explode as its opened.

Don't be so silly. Next you'll be suggesting we all put our U lock keys in a big bowl!

Wouldn't want to do that. I might pick out your Ribble and get in to a compromising position with your Harry's!

For a change I will be riding Claud so thus will be resting my Harrys.  They will be turning again on Saturday morning.  Speaking of which ...

Does anyone fancy a ride early on Saturday morning (13th October)? If so meet at the Spa Road / Powers Hall End roundabout at 7am.  The plan is to ride my classic 36 mile route which I believe includes, in my humble opinion, the best lanes in our area.  We should be back in Witham by 10:30 to 11:00 am and in keeping with tradition we will adjourn to Weatherspoons (Battesford Court) for a cheap but sustaining fry up. The last bit is of course optional. If you do fancy a fry up feel free to invite your partners and kids to join us. This is also part of the tradition as is a cheeky pint!

Oh yes and by the way, I have advertised the Saturday morning ride on Witham Cycling's Facebook page in the hope of encouraging some new blood.  In the event of new faces turning up, together perhaps with their WAGs and kids at 'spoons, I trust we will all be welcoming and on our best behaviour.  No talk of initiation ceremonies or any other rituals involving virgins and farmyard animals  ;D  Mention of the 2010 Xmas do might also be ill advised

Looking at the route is that UP or DOWN TMNH?

Might pop in for coffee with Mrs C and Junior Junior as Senior Junior will be at dance class at that time and I will be doing the run around picking up and dropping off before hand.

Up TMNH and up Wickham Bishops Hill (Station Road).  It would be great if you could pop in to the 'spoons.

Absolutely.  My aim is to produce something like this ...

... by the time I get to the Jack and Jenny on the way home. Better out than in.

Are you still up for 7am Saturday morning followed by a WAG fest at 'spoons?

In which case I will see you at the Dancing Dick's / Peg Millar's cross roads shortly after 7am. We all know that 36 miles including at least one ford and two decent hills followed by a greasy breakfast and a pint (purely for medicinal purposes) will cure most lurgies.

Oh no!  Don't tell me the heated leather seats in chief's sports car didn't work!!!  That's dreadful.

And you'd know that because......? Heater not working in the Merc?

Good night out. Must do that again soon. Highlight of the ride back was trying to navigate road works on the flyover in to Witham. They were relaying the road surface so we were warmed by the hot tarmac as we cycled past. OD was obviously so impressed with what was going on that he rode straight in to a great mound of tarmac (when I say mound, it was at leaset the size of a small family car) Chief - it was a camera moment.

The way you lot carry on we'll all get tarred with the same brush if we're not careful.
