What a wonderfully glossy the latest issue is, with lurvely pics that make you forget just how unpleasant cold, wet, muddy socks are!

And they're giving away £Lotshundred worth of Lupine light as well.  Tis mine, I tell thee!

Best UK cycling mag, IMO.  In newsagents now, or do you subscribe?

I subscribe.  I went into the noo Seekrit Singletrack Bunker just before I left Tod.  Chipps himself did sort me out.  I did see the bike fettling space and the random heaps of stuff filing system.  I bought a jersey, socks & a subscription :)

Still kinda proud that summat so specialised and well-executed can come out of such a small town. :)

I'll wait until the weekend before I go looking for a copy then.  Singletrack (and other small-ish companies like On-One/Planet X, Cotic, etc.) are a great advert for cycling in the UK.

If only there were a road riding version too

Singletrack's the by far the best MTB mag there is, IMHO. MBR and WhatMTB are OK, and MBUK is the comic of the MTB mag world... though I might have bought a copy yesterday because of the free beanie - in my defence I was in need of a new hat...

I always wondered whether road.cc was sposed to end up as a mag too, or just a news site with forum.

Currently I have the pdf sub to Singletrack, but may well go for the real thing whenever the renewal comes up.

Singletrack is the only mtb mag I still buy, although a get some over the tinternet as well. It just seems to be about people and stuff that have the same ethos as I do. There is an eco vibe as well which is nice with some efforts to source print properly (Mrs Surreal approves mightily).

Dead right!
Mint Sauce is the best thing from MBUK.
I've only ever bought one Singletrack mag. But it's the best.
All about riding, routes and proper touring stuff.

I think the magazines are a major force putting me off the MTB community!

Read one SingleTrack - head and shoulders above t' rest. Good stuff.

I think that getting MS into Singletrack has been discussed a fair few times on STW forum.  MBUK: biggest circulation of bike mags I believe.  ST: much smaller, specialist title, so I'd wonder if they could afford it?

It could tip the scales and be what convinces me to buy more of their magasoines ;)
They could do Mint Sauce merchandise too. I reckon it would be a very big seller.*

I did try and find a Mint Sauce T shirt a few years ago, when I worked for someone called Mr Lamb ;D

That's weird, I was looking at those earlier today... I was quite tempted, but the flowers, heart and pink detailing were a little too feminine for my tastes! ;D

Clarion, you  got my vote!
Quit buying MBUK in the late 90's when they went all DH and ever more brown nosed reviews.
Still buy Singletrack occasionally for the good reviews and great photos, but I really miss good ol' Mint Sauce!

Similarly I stopped buying the long since expired Mountain Biker International after a change of editor - it was trying to be a clone of the U.S. rag Mountain Bike Action, again with a DH/"freeride" bias...

Riser Bar Magazine - sorry, MBR - went downhill (as it were) years ago when it decided to chase the same readership as MBUK.  ::-)

The reason Singletrack is good is because it's the spiritual successor of Mountain Bike World, which in it's time, was the nearest thing to the thinking riders' MTB magazine.

Singletrack is very good and the only magazine I buy relatively regularly.
I was a bit worried that it was going a bit "All Mountain" in the last issue: silly bikes being ridden (only) downhill.  Luckily, the current issue has lots of "real riding" stories.  I especially like the "lost art of carrying" article.  One of my first MTB rides, when I was 16 or so, was riding to the top of Pendle Hill.  At least that's what we thought we'd do when we set off.  Instead we ended up carrying the bikes most of the way and never made it to the top!
