I am astonished that no photos from the weekend have made it to the Caption It thread.

Give 'em a chance - half of us have only just woken up after the weekend!

A smattering of shots:

The Volio residence and guests.

One of the small furry inhabitants.

Pippa taking part in the sandwich eating championships.

Rob doing the same, but with additional fluids.

Some of the group that went for a walk around the periphery of the Volio domain.

...and some Llamas we saw on that walk.

The gate on the bridge in Monmouth.

...and us all grouped below it.

TGLite and Speshact grinding up the hill back to Chez Volio after our visit to Monmouth.

A just visible view of the tent with all the lighting on it.

All of my photographs from this weekend are here.
Actually, it is rocket science.

Pity nobody managed to snap the Polar Bears.  Even the tent field pic was taken after we'd had to leave.    :(

I haz them - will post soon but got a bit of a work backlog here at present.

TGLite and Speshact grinding up the hill back to Chez Volio after our visit to Monmouth.

That's my memory of the w/e.  What a great hill climber TGL was.  That picture does not do justice to just how steep that hill was (and to how many of them there were)
Chapeau, TGL.
Admission.  I'm actually not that fussed about cake.

Rob decided the "beer" wasn't enough so added a slice of tomato and lemon to make "beer cocktail".

Great photo, that one.  Yes, he's very good at getting up hills, though his knee was suffering a bit by the time we got to Chepstow on the way home.  I've been prepared to admit for some time that he is faster than me up the hills, but I think I have to face the fact that he's faster than me on the flat, too.  Even on the descent into Chepstow, where I hit 62kph, he managed 62.2! ::-)

I just love the fact that he looks so damn cheerful.  I've come to the conclusion that this is the key to really enjoyable group rides, far more important than distance or hilliness or (shockingly) even cake - ride with people who find that riding their bikes makes them happy :)

Load him down with tools and equipment, that'll slow him a bit. :demon:

... although that didn't entirely work for NSTN with Rob. ;D

Anyone having seen NSTN steaming up a ridiculously steep hill further than any of th rest of our group could manage on the way back from Monmouth, might think it was her that needed weighing down. ;D

I have been told - several times - this weekend that TGL's next touring bike is to have a triple. ;D

Beer.

Pickled egg from The Boat. The look on Thing 1's face says enough.
What on earth am I doing here on this beautiful day?! This is the only life I've got!!

Some excellent photos - as usual I failed to get my camera out all weekend, though I may have evidence of a particularly bastardly climb on my phone...

Here we go:

That's just silly, isn't it?

Cool! You got a photo of our tent, I like that :D. There are some really nice shots of TGL too. :)

Ah, it was yours, I wasn't certain!

The original was a lot darker, it took a bit of fiddling with The Gimp to get it looking even that tolerable.

Here's possibly a slightly better attempt with PSP.

That has to be the best baton handover pic ever! Salvatore has a definite 'WTF is that?' look on his face  ;D

IIRC Clare should have it. Looks like she's not yet found this thread  ;)

If ya can't get enough of the stuff the complete pile of my reasonably decent photos (life's too short to link them all here) is at:

https://picasaweb.google.com/106026534125609103562/NotTheRoyalWeddingCampingWeekend?authkey=Gv1sRgCPjwsc_RpbPGiAE#

I've got a pile of near duplicates and slightly blurry images so if you did anything embarrassing over the weekend and you can't find yourself drop me a pm and I'll see if I've got anything.

I'm sure I've seen Chris S on TV.  Probably on Crimewatch or The Sweeney.
