SKS Longboard installation

I’ve fitted the above to my CdF and in time honoured practice bent the front disc side stays to clear the caliper. So now of course the stays are not aligned on both sides. Does this assymetry impact on the workings of the secu clip system?

My time honoured practise is to fit a nylon spacer so that the stays don't need bending.
