A few of VC167 are having a post-LEL chin-wag and some beers on Monday 11th September in York. We're meeting at the Black Swan from 4pm and some of us may be cycling there... Or walking... Or train etc.
York is quite central so we hope that a few others might like to join us.
Address:
Black Swan
23 Peasholme Green
York
YO1 7PR
There is a nice fire, plenty of bike parking, good beer. Food too.

This is a nice idea, I'd come over if it wasn't for the fact that I've managed to secure a doctor's appointment that afternoon (for which one has to plan about a month in advance). Have an enjoyable de-brief.

Bizarrely it's a 7 pm appointment so by the time I could get to the station, etc...when your last train?

All-be-it with some 1hr+ gaps they run all night back to Leeds...but it is a school night! :o I'll see what my sleep deprivation is like.

Any men of the cloth who miss the last train having taken of God's holy nectar are more than welcome to use my spare room. I'll waive the fee and consider it part of my tithe ;)
-
Hopefully see you there!

If that's OK with you, of course.

You presence would be very welcome indeed and a chance for us to say "Thank you" face 2 face. You will be *very* welcome.
AC
If?!? Lol. See you soon alwyn.
-
I'll be able to make this at a sensible time now. :)
Alwyn, if you're there, I'll either ask for a hug or an autograph, depending on how much of a fan-boy I'm feeling at the time. Apologies in advance.

Great idea. I should be able to come as well - aim to get there between 6.00 and 6.30pm - leaving 3-4 hours in hand.

You may be bought drinks on the evening - given your efforts at BC.
-
Non-alkyfrolic ones then - it's a school night!
-
It's in my work diary so I don't forget. I'll sag off early and get the train up. It'll be great to catch up with folk.
-
See y'all later today. Not cycling - just tucking up in front of a fire with an ale.
-
CrinklyAunty and I are aiming to be there about 17:45

What a wonderful evening!!!
Danial, thanks for coming and listening to all us opinionated riders. Deano, thanks for organising this: the steak and ale pie was ossum. The beer was really good too - not LonDon prices.
Loads of North Eastern riders and volunteers. Brilliant to see Crinkly(Barnard Castle)Lion. Good quality banter. Do we really have to wait until 2021 for the next reunion?!?
:)

Aye, thanks for coming everyone! Special thanks to Debs, cos I could have slept on the train to Newcastle.
Did anyone do a headcount?
-
An excellent de-brief, thanks all.
-
What fun! The beer was pleasingly weak and the pie suitably stodgy. Crucially, the company was superb - it was lovely to meet and catch up with everyone.
-
A lovely evening - thank you everybody!

Really enjoyed meeting everyone and sharing tales. Thanks again to Danial for giving us an the excuse.
Great to hear the Louth catering story. I knew something was odd when at 10pm in the serving line I was offered rice pudding first and pasta second. But someone said many people doing long cycle events put up with all sorts of oddities so I took it as the new normal. I consider myself lucky to have had dry banana chips and raisins for breakfast the following morning.
