At the weekend, I went up to visit my parents in Sheffield, in honour of Uncle Geoffrey, visiting from Canada, and as soon as I crossed the Derbyshire/S. Yorks boundary the roads had all been freshly resurfaced (apart from the A625, which was road closed, resurfacing in progress). I didn't go exploring, but every road I drove on was resurfaced.
I'm envious.
(to be fair, the pre-resurfacing roads were quite a bit worse than they are round here)
