One of those very British talents, often undervalued. "You're a lady"  remains a worthy epitaph but there was so much more to his output, including some very interesting work with, among others, Mary Hopkin.
Why should anybody steal a watch when they can steal a bicycle?

in 2000 I trained a school choir for a concert at the Albert Hall (there were about 1000 kids taking part from all over Essex) and Peter Skellern wrote some of the music for the concert. He was there on the night of the performance. He wrote some pretty good stuff, which I think was underrated.
