Anyone any experience of using pickle juice (as in Dill/Cucumbers) to prevent or treat cramp issues? Seems to be all the rage in the US. If so, what experiences have you had?

Personally no but we've ridden with RUSA folk on several brevets and they think it is essential magic during hot weather. I vaguely recall reading a study that didn't find any reason why it should work and in particular, to work so fast.

It's salty water, innit

I suspect that the vinegar in it might make it more palatable to the stomach in some way than straight water with salt in it.

I like sweet pickles so my pickle juice is around 10% sugar, like fruit juice, + salt + acetic acid.

It's palatable but rather norty for dental health.

Never tried it for anything other than improving the appearance of my saucepans and kitchen sink..
