At the start of this month I bought a bike, mainly as a favour to a good friend. It turns out the guy I bought it from owns a recording studio where my friend's band rehearses. Unbeknownst to me, to return the favour, he has offered my friend a  considerable discount on studio time for the two of us to do some singing so we're going to put a couple of tracks together. I may well inflict them on you at a later date.

On reflection this might be the wrong thread . . .  ;D

I think I'll call this Good News: I popped into a bike shop to see if they had a certain something (they didn't) and to have a chat with someone who works there. "How's this year going for you?" she asked. "Okay," I said, "I've been mostly hibernating. Nothing special." "Only okay? You're normally such a positive person!" she said. Hmmm, not sure if she's right, but I guess it sounds good.

Mrs. B is on the phone, and it sounds as if she's found one of her friends to go and see La La Land with her tomorrow night.

Phew!

My blood pressure was down to 121/74 at today's checkup so it seems the bulb in the "danger of exploding like a poodle in a microwave" warning light can be changed

After 15 years, I reached 1000 feedback on eBay today.  100% too, although there were some close calls with twats who expected a mint condition 80-year old item after paying 99p, etc.

We have our sea view* back. Hurrah!

The field over the other side of our back hedge, having been unused for farming purposes for several years, was planted with some saplings which were apparently of a fast growing variety and soon became tall trees that prevented us from enjoying the sunsets. Over the last few days, a big mechanical contraption has been in and torn them all down, so we can now see as far as the Isle of Sheppey once again. We can also see the sheep that took up residence in the next but one field a couple of years ago.

That was pretty much my first thought too. My wife has been on to the council to check for any planning applications but hasn't dug anything up. I'm sure there must be a reason why they have suddenly decided to clear the field after showing no interest for several years but it remains to be seen what it is...

@citoyen, could be that the council have got off their collective fundaments and realised that the planting used to replace the hedge don't match expectations.

My good news is work related. After lots of years contracting I went perm and this week has confirmed to me that it was the right thing to do. I have delivered a project that would have died a death otherwise, my skills have been brought to the attention of the executive board and the project now has a second phase. The fact that the project is something I am really interested in does help tremendously!

Oh and, if I miss the train I get to go to one of Durham's best pubs! :)

The pothole at the end of my drive which swallows one of the car's front wheels has had a white line painted around it as have the others in the street.
Probably just so we know they're there.

Gosh.  Sign of the times?  Last good news post was over a month ago.

Anyway.  Good news.  The beef joint is currently resting.  Glass of wine time I think.  :D
