Joe's Garage segue to Titties and Beer!
2 of Zappa's slightly more silly output styles.T+B is from the Live in New York album and, I must admit, I'd love to have been there but after the first dozen or so plays sans vision it gets cold pretty quick.

Woke up to the most bizarre ear worm today.

The inspiration came at a meeting at work a couple of weeks ago when my boss was talking about someone he knew in Chicago.  The rogue in me decided to quip that "I used to work in Chicago.... I don't work there any more"

Twas amusing to see who clocked it and who didn't.

Move to this morning where I was clearly amusedly thinking about this as I woke up and now I find myself all morning singing it to myself (silently!) and - making up new verses!  Oddly, I find I am far more inspired than when the pressure was on during an actual renditions in post-rugby piss ups when I was a student.  :-D

I had to Google that. Happily I'm still none the wiser . . .

I Wish It Could Be Christmas Every Day

Please! Make it stop!

True story :one Christmas I flew 10000 miles to escape that song (and the God awful Slade one), only to be assaulted by it the first shop we walked into!

My ear worm, for the last two days has been "Dissident" by Pearl Jam, brought on by Deshutes brewery posting a picture of their Christmas ale called, you guessed it, Dissident!
I feel like Captain Kirk, on a brand new planet every day, a little like King Kong on top of the Empire State

For the past couple of days I've had "After all that we've been through, You know I'll make it up to you" stuck in my earbrain. Just those two lines of some American slush-rock ballad. I've just looked it up and it's Chicago and it's actually called Hard to Say I'm Sorry. Well, I really didn't need to know that and I don't need to know any more lines.

It's even worse when you have a few bars of a piece of music in your head and can't remember what it is.

I have one of those at the moment. Worryingly, I'm pretty sure it's from a 70s prog-rock track.  That's a lot of my collection to work through to find it

Two weekends ago, as I was slogging along an unexpectedly muddy (always used to be gravel!) section of the Fosse Way, my internal ears were wormed with Yazoo's old classic Didn't I Bring Your Love Down (All Night). Curious, but enjoyable and the repeated lines make for a good riding rhythm.

Despacito. I had this most of the weekend thanks to a poor selection for turbo time. And now it's back. IT'S NOT EVEN IN ENGLISH SO I CAN'T SING ALONG!!!

A couple of days ago, at work, we were discussing Oil Well Image Logs, where instruments lowered into the borehole record photo-realistic images of the borehole wall.
We were comparing these with core photos, which are photographic images of retrieved core samples.

One difference is that the Image Logs are from the inside, looking out.
The core photos are from the outside, looking in.

Ever since that discussion, I've had Pink Floyd's "Wot's... Uh the Deal?" from 'Obscured by Clouds' going around in my head.
For about 2 days now.

This morning, I had an unusual soft-rock mash up of Barracuda, Magic Man and The Power of Love (Lewis, H, et al).

It's the pause.
Getting there...

I am happy to have I am the Resurrection by the Stone Roses nestled in my ear, but it keeps morphing into I am the One And Only by Chesney Hawkes. This Is Not A Good Thing.
