I don't know because we are going out to celebrate Mrs. TKP's birthday. A local pub/hotel has recently been refurbished and it is either extremely good or they have got all their friends and relations to review it on the web. We shall find out soon.  :demon:

I'm going with friends and relations reviewing it. The main courses were pretty good to be fair but the starter was crap and serving red wine at a few degrees above freezing is not good. Three real ale pumps on the brand spanking new bar and not one of them with any beer on was not a good start. They had these ridiculously pretentious knives with odd shaped handles that didn't work in the hand which really, really irritated me. (and the waitress it seemed to agree, the extra weight in the handles meant that they always managed to fall off the plates).

They must have spent many thousands of pounds on the refurbishment but lack of attention to detail means that it is probably wasted. Very sad.

Braised venison shank, which is gently cooking in the oven as I type. I'll finish it off on the hob whilst the garlic bread is being baked...

Tuna, Prawn and red pepper kebabs, if I can get of my *rse and do something about it. We went out for a splendid lunch and probably won't need supper for ages yet.

Spaghetti Carbonara - and very nice it was too, though I say it myself.

Made it with maple syrup cured bacon - the extra sweetness seemed to complement it very well.

Now got to go get some more wine. Hic!

A sort of shephers pie, fairly veggy - courgette, parsnip, carrots, onion, mushrooms, as well as mince, spiced up with some ras el hanout from Marakech (my wife brought it back...)  topped with crushed potato, serverd with runners, buttered leeks, carrots and peas.  Apple pia and ice cream to follow. We're entertaining family.

I'm pigging out over the next couple of days in preparation for the healthy eating regime to start on Monday, so tonight it's chicken rogan josh, pilau rice and peshwari nan. And beer. Lots of beer.

I appear to be just having the beer.

It's a diet, innit.

It's Sunday so it's ROAST BEEF with all the trimmings and a bottle of robust red.  I believe it may be sticky toffee pudding with custard later but she hasn't told me yet.

First proper meal since Monday. A big Yorkshire pudding with a little roast beef and cabbage plus some potatoes. Stomach is now in rebellion. This is the only Christmas I have lost weight ever.
I think you'll find it's a bit more complicated than that.

Note that Kyuss didn't specify exactly which Monday...  ;)

It was a kind of vegetarian shepherd's pie. Lentil, tomato and green pepper base (with a hint of cinnamon) topped with garlic mash and cheddar cheese browned under the grill. Yum!
