I bought three lovely pieces of sirloin because Waitrose were out of burgers. Then Mrs. Wow and Dez chose to have cold gammon instead. Oh well, I'll eat their steaks next week.

takeaway curry.  Excellent one too, the local bangladeshi has been taken over and it's much better!

Inauthentic Gundel palacsinta.
Pancake with walnuts, some kind of syrup, splash of cream, spoonful of Hungarian elderflower liqueur. Followed by strong black coffee.

There is only One Proper Dish to have on New Year's Day: Steak Pie*.
Washed down with Irn Bru.  O:-)

*Mr jogler: the steak pie from Cameron's of Forfar,  purveyors of the Snow Roads Bridies. None better.
It's a bit weird, but actually quite wonderful.

I was planning to eat about 7, and you'd be most welcome. Being gluten-intolerant, mrs eck (sadly for her, but not for me) can't have any, so we can share it between us. But I hope there's enough - the guy in Cameron's said it was enough for four.  :-X

Due to a scheduling cockup by the relatives meaning today's roast has to be changed to tomorrow, we were faced with either pasta two days on the run or going out to find a takeaway.

Curry house: closed.
Chippy: closed.

In desperation I got a Young's Mariner's Pie and some oven chips from the Co-Op.  The pie turned out to be made of pollack (normally fit only for pet food) and actually contained a large pebble.  The oven chips didn't work.  They never do.  Scraped most of it into the bin.  Should have had pasta two days running.

Tesco pizza. The same sort as that poor woman bought just before she was murdered. But I have tarted it up with red pepper and artichokes.

A Young's pie? Surely pasta would have been better?
