Unfortunately I'll no longer be doing the ride.  My employer has made it clear they don't want me doing it while I'm off work sick.

Barstewards !

+1; but is there any way you might be able to sell it as rehabilitative treatment from a MH perspective? Friendly GP with a sick note?

If anything went wrong and I had a meltdown and had more time off as a result,  I get no phased return or reduced hours. Not prepared to risk my livelihood for a bike ride.

Is this the route being used tomorrow?

My windoze machine is rather uncoöperative at the moment, and can't use 'send to device' via this Linux machine.  Can someone send me a .gpx so I can copy it over to my eTrex, please?

Still not sure if I'll make it tomorrow morning, but I shall try.

Yes, that is the route Andrijj.

Is a .fit file any use to you?  I can't convert it to .gpx unfortunately, I don't have the skills.

I just got home from the station, where I've waved everybody else off.  I wore my charity 'Bloodwise' cycling jersey, because that was the whole point.

Sitting on the sofa on my own now.

I hope it goes well.

Never heard of .fit before.  I shall see if I can bludgeon the windoze box into submission.

If not, I'll manage without.  I don't *need* the route on my Garmin, but it would be convenient not to have to rely on others - and give me a chance to be a bit helpful rather than just following along.

It's great that you even want to join in Andrij!

I couldn't wrangle Garmin connect to make a .gpx file, I had a good try I promise  :)

I know the gang will be pleased to see you.  They're a grand bunch.

Thanks Kim  :)

I've done that.  Now, if Andrijj can let me have his e-mail address I'll send the file  :)

Check out you, Ruthie, with the techno-whizz skillz!

I hope those that are riding have a cracking good time and raise plenty of dosh, and that you have a peaceful and restful few days cheering them on, which is also a Good Thing To Do.

Slice of Cub-made rocky road to go with that cuppa?

Been at Buck House since 04:50 - no cyclists. Did they leave early or are they late?

The (figurative) baton has been handed off to Tim. It's a gorgeous day and pleasant company - would love to have carried on but by Newhaven I'd probably need an ambulance to get me home. Instead I'm now on a train back to London.

Baton carrier reporting in. We've reached Lewes and are celebrating with ice cream.  8 miles to go and ages to do it in.

Baton now left at Newhaven Ferry Port. Bar ends purchased for Ben's bike, fitted and broken pie plate removed, all at Halfords.  Complicated stuff involving cars, luggage, people from Brighton and bairns ("that's children",  thank you Lisa) done. Train from Newhaven cancelled so I cycled to Lewes, bought a ticket and an ice cream.  Saw Andrew Marr in the station café.

All in all a marvellous day. Have fun on the rest of it.
