Sorbet...
« on: 17 November, 2008, 10:23:42 am »
I made (lemon) sorbet yesterday for the first time.  It tastes great, really lemony.     ;) Used our new kenwood that replaced the magimix (started leaking insulation from the bowl)...  I used powdered egg white, just in case with the minis having it too.  Discovered the easiest way to get the zest was to potato peel it off in strips and then use a sharp knife to shave the pith off...

Mmmmmm.

Pink grapefruit and mint is my favourite.  Use a carton of not-from-concentrate pink grapefruit juice, some chopped up fresh mint leaves and sugar syrup and egg white.  No messing about with potato peelers required.

I think you should do an expt and use fresh grapefruit, and see is you can tell the difference...   O:-)
