None are so accursed as the Hype-slayer! The High Sparrow and Tommen are now toast...
Joking apart, trial-by-combat CleganeBowl was a neat bit of fan theory but the main flaws in it were logistical - namely, how does Sandor get to hear about what's happening and make his way to KL to be the Faith's champion in time for when said trial is due to take place, and nobody in KL really knows what happened to him after he went AWOL during the Battle of the Blackwater.
The High Sparrow must have had an inkling that Cersei would, if she chose trial by combat, nominate the giant armoured mute who accompanies her almost everywhere. So with the "I choose violence" incident, you have to wonder if he was actually playing Cersei into revealing her trump card, being ruthless enough to accept losing one or two Sparrows (including possibly Lancel) to get a measure of what "Ser Robert Strong" was capable of. Once it was apparent that "Ser Robert Strong" could ignore a spiked mace to the chest and pull off Mortal Kombat killing moves, it wouldn't have taken too long to work out if the Faith had easy access to anyone with even half a chance of surviving against such a monstrosity - which ties back into the above objections to classic CleganeBowl theory. The ban on trial by combat under the guise of making justice more equitable is a nice easy way of closing off an escape route for Cersei, but perhaps the HS doesn't realise that he's pushed her into a corner where she has little or nothing left to lose...
Personally, I think the only way CleganeBowl is ever going to happen is if both Cersei and Zombie Gregor survive whatever windmill-midden interface is bound to happen in KL and she finds out that LF hasn't put Sansa's head on a spike like he promised... Though there is another theory that she'll have more need of ZombieGregor in fighting through KL in order to escape to Casterly Rock.
