Fingers crossed, Annie :)

Consultant said he gave my dad a 'Rolls Royce Operation' as he was a lot worse than they thought.  He is ok, not very well at the moment though.  Still on a ventilator.  Early days.  Relief does some funny things to a person.

Hope everything is OK and he makes a good recovery.

I haven't done any work for the past two hours, and have been taking it easy.

Having said that, I'm now about to start work again.

I've just managed to get two tickets from Southend to Totnes on Easter Saturday for £15 each!

I got two returns from King X to Leeds for £12.50 per person per journey. I reckon that by doing it myself it has saved the taxpayer between £210 and £396.

I think we might be gone by then, leaving on the 25th. :( Nothing personal, honest, just was originally going by the Bike Express dates and never bothered to re-think dates when I dumped the bus.

Oh, that is good news! Rob and Rachel are brilliant, and their food to die for. We'll have to organise a ride all together, if you like?

We've just signed off our accounts for the year... and paid the Government some money. I suppose there's a nice deserving banker somewhere who needs it more than we do.

That reminds me to book my tickets to Bangor for the end of April.

That reminds me to book my tickets to Bangor for the end of April.

Advance fares only bookable up to, and including, Friday 10th April at the moment.

National Express > Advanced Ticket Alert > Train tickets for travel to London, York, Leeds, Newcastle, Edinburgh, Glasgow

The advance booking dates move forward a week at a time (rather than a day at a time) so if you're going out on a Friday and coming back Saturday or Sunday then it's often worth picking up a cheap single for the outbound leg and then waiting for the next week's tickets to be released and snap up a cheap single to get back.

It looks like I will be travelling back on the sleeper from Crewe. I'll tag the route for an advanced ticket alert.

It's a useful reminder, but the way to get the absolute cheapest is to be awake and online when the new tickets are released.

It's some ungodly hour on a Saturday morning if I remember correctly...

Talked to our insurer. It was all a mistake. As I thought, we should not be charged anything for insuring our hire car, as although it's bigger than the policy covers, it was not provided at our request but because their hire company didn't have the right size available. We have therefore had our money refunded. Hooray! And thanks Natalia, for sorting it all out. Unlike her colleagues on Saturday, she knew exactly what she was doing.
