I have had my contract extended until the end of May

Yay! I might get to hit my target for miles for the year now (I missed it by 1200 miles last year :( )

Working from home can be good:-

Finally setup printer sharing on the mac so I can print wirelessly from my laptop.
Finally sending off admin/paperwork stuff that I've been putting off (perm entries, final LEL payment, etc).
Oh, and no irritating sales people distracting me from work.

What did you need to do? I've tried (and failed) that several times

Enable Printer Sharing and enable Windows sharing (my laptop runs XP). Add an account to the Windows sharing section (you'll need to login with this account to use the printer).

Then I just did Start -> Run -> \\192.168.1.66\ (the IP of my MacMini).
Entered login details and I can see my users home directory and the printer.
Right click on the printer and select "Connect" and it'll go through the printer driver stuff and add it to the list of printers.

I think the trick is enabling Windows Sharing and not just Printer Sharing.

Fantastic! :D Congratulations Nobby and Gordy.

Thank you, although I'd rather be a grandad. With three daughters and a son, I always thought I would be by now  ;)

Congratuolations, Gordy - boy or girl?

And Nobby, you're a git.  I borrowed my brother in law's Olympus and really enjoyed it.  I wouldn't buy one myself, though  - you could get a bike for that kind of money!

Thank you deano, I am indeed but I've got four bikes plus one out on loan  ;)
This is a much handier prize than the four bar-b-q's I won last year; them's not a lot of use to a vegetarian lightweight cycle camper ;D

My older daughter's been married for a couple of years with no progeny as yet. She's got a large mortgage and a cat instead.

I have an interview!  For a job that pays quite a bit more than my last job!

Just waiting for confirmation of date and time - but probably next Wednesday afternoon.

Some of you have got this marriage/offspring thing not quite right. It is rumoured that in some instances the marriage vows are actually a pagan incantation which invokes a remarkable healing process in the female ;D.

Many congratulations to Gordy & family.

Good luck Regulator, crossing all my little bits and bobs for you.

My good news.  My fingers are sore from lacing a rear wheel, it will be finished in the morning, I am having so much fun though.

Other good news, my dad's sedation is being reduced.

I also managed a 45 min hill climb on the turbo, my legs are now feeling quite firm.

A job that I was kind of considered for last year has become available again.  One of my referees works for the organisation in question.  Pay is £££+ and there is lots of international travel involved (by green methods of course).

Guess who's applying again!  ;D
