(Also still looking for some extra helpers for either day at HQ in Galashiels. Expenses covered plus free entry to ride helpers ride of the 200km 8/9th June)

Yes I think Im free to help.

It looks like the event returns to gala about 230km amd 450km

How about I pitch up to help out when riders return for the 1st time?

I'm assuming that would be between around 1500 - 2100 Sat.

That way I can reserve the option to travel either to/from Gala by bike train or car.

a pleasant few hours yesterday serving pasta and tea for riders reaching Gala at 230km.

Just a handful of DNFs and lots of cheery riders heading out into the night for the next leg of 240km.  I noted an increasing proportion of bikes with disc brakes, though leather saddles remain the choice for the overwhelming majority!

Cameo appearance by George Berwick in the evening ahead of todays 200km.

I even collected my SR Ecosse badge!

Hope the rest of the event is a success.

Thanks for coming to help wee Bairn. Much appreciated

Also Well done to all those who completed successfully the Borderlands Explorer 600km at the weekend. Results are on the website so for those going to that small ride in France your ACP number for your 600k should be available very soon to complete your entry if needed. Keep a look out on your results page of the AUK site.

Also a really big thanks to all those who came and helped us run the event. We couldn't have done it without you. It was a long paper round!

Hope to see everyone out at the Hawick 200 or Gourock but if not keep pedalling and good luck to those going to the Big Yin 8)

  • Is it a bird? Is it a plane? No, it's Lepidopterist Man!
Just to say thanks Lucy for a lovely 200k, my first ever.
Quite pleased at my time of 12 and a half hours!
