??? Not to worry. Hopefully mine, will be with me today, depending on the courier van when he/she arrives. I really only wanted this tent or shelter for some good old cycle-touring, for next year. I've heard the Mini Peak II had issues with the mesh and hopefully there may of improved on that. Still, if the weather is kind at the weekend, I may pop it up and see how it looks. I have plans for walking the Cleveland Way, later this month, but I may scrap that and do the C2C instead and try out the Mini Peak II.

It works as well, which is always a bonus

Brings a mug (600ml-ish) of water to the boil in just under 6 minutes.

Now that I like!

Not sure it was pass risk assessment to do it with the Scouts though.

Followed this video -

Been meaning to do it for a while, glad I did! I wanted a super small meths stove for a couple of overnight bikepacking trips.

How's the fuel consumption?  Previous forumites who've dabbled with those designs have found that the weight saving is quickly cancelled out by having to carry extra meths...

Very little tbh. I assume there's other burners out there that are even more frugal, but this will do me.

Certainly not after saving weight, just packs smaller. And meths is easier than gas to transport.

A Vango Omega 350

reduced to a reasonable (cheap) price online. I needed a tent a little more spacious for sharing with my girlfriend when on summer camp this year as a week sharing an Akto will be neither fun nor hygienic.

Didn't buy anything, but in the form of gifts for christmas.

Jetboil Zip, lovely is for micro adventures where the desire for tea is high but the willingness to carry the Trangia / Kelly Kettle is low.

Ticket to the Moon double hammock, beats either looking at each other across a gap or ending up on the floor trying to share a single hammock.

Not sure of the brand but a paraffin storm lantern, made in Germany smells wonderful produces a golden lovely light and is going to live with my tilley lamp.

A spork case, for saving myself from being stabbed by the titanium spork in my bag.

and finally a baby tea spork!! It's teh cutest.

Bought myself a cheap camping mat to replace my lovely Alpkit Numo which I lost on a train journey :(
Planning a few warm weather bugouts this year (vaguely, not actually planning..)
Also got some seam sealant to start refurbing my ancient tent.

Finally, a SVEA 123 (the "Swedish hand grenade") for the sensible price of £45.  This is the original made-in-Sweden one without the built-in cleaning needle, which is supposed to be more controllable than the current 123R.  Doesn't have the little aluminium pan but all sorts of things fit instead, probably my tin mug.

The seller has replaced the seals in the valve and the photos show it burning with a good strong blue flame.

A friend of mine used to use one when he was in the army.  It went nova in the middle of a tinder dry field in Cyprus.... ;D

New family tent - a Vaude Division Dome in the Cotswold sale.  Sleeps 5 with two bedrooms but not a monster tunnel tent - it's a dome so should be stable in the wind.  Need to wait for the weather to improve a bit then we can take the boy camping.
