I liked the use of Laibach's http://www.youtube.com/v/UgqjnzkYPnA&rel=1 in the trailer.

Oooooh. I'm going to that Essex over Easter. We could all meet up in that London and see it together for added hilarity.

They appear to currently be quoting the UK release date as 4th April 2012, are you around after then?
Actually, it is rocket science.

I told Mrs Z about this and she rolled her eyes in a "men!" kind of way.

Then she watched the trailer and said, "Actually, that looks as if it might be rather good..."

It's April 20, as announced by the distributor.

I saw Snakes On A Plane at the cinema. I'm not risking good money on Sarah Palin vs The Space Nazis unless I know it's not going to be a similar disappointment, which I fear it may.

Which is of course where YACF comes in, any sufficiently bad film seen with a bunch of (possibly slight over alcoholed) YACFers, would still be good. ;D

The worst case scenario is that it's one of those films which isn't really that bad, just tedious and boring.

what an amazing coincidence. Mrs TC also rolled her eyes. I haven't made her watch the trailer yet though.

Good point well made. One of my lesser-known hobbies is the synchro-watching of cheesy disaster/horror movies with like-minded people on IRC, to good effect.

LOL, I've never tried that, but I have done synchro-listening to various cheesy tunes and albums, whilst discussing (and suggesting others!) on IRC. ;D

This was pre-ADSL, so required CDs of the music, since you couldn't reliably stream decent quality audio down a modem connection.

Sometimes there is overlap. The James Whale 'Frankenstein' was on the TV the night after the college ciema club showed 'Young Frankenstein', and there was lots of giggling at the seconds film.

It is a tragically bad film though. The Toxic Avenger is slightly better if you want to try Troma films.

That was a remarkably upbeat pre-review by Kermode. If he likes it, even a bit, the chances are it's got something.
