Another way to break up your commute - use the drops.

I was reading one of my cycling mags on the weekend and it talked about stretching and using the same muscles all the time.  It suggests that one of the things that cyclists quite often miss is using the drops for any extended period of time.

Having a 23 mile commute each way can be a bit tiring at times so anything that makes it different can be a bonus.

The other day I used the drops for 90% of my commute home.  I got into a nice rhythm and it went more quickly.  I did have a tail wind though so I thought that might make a difference.

I rode home today into a headwind and again used the drops for 90% of the ride.  I today also included some hill sprints using the drops only.  That was a different experience and produced more speed more quickly than I'd ever thought possible (for me that is).

You should try it for a change.  You might even enjoy it.
