However, it isn't easy to find out what proportion of the viscera can (reasonably) safely be fatty tissue. There are guidelines for the overall proportion of body mass that can be fatty tissue, expressed as a percentage of body weight. I have found references to a "visceral fat rating", which is a number (no units) up to fifty nine. I'm suspicious of this, partly because it's mentioned on websites that are selling weighing scales.
