Bib Tights With a Front Zip
« on: 18 April, 2021, 12:52:24 pm »
In winter I favor bib tights with a front zip and although I have a couple of pairs at the moment i cant seem to find anyone who does them at the moment. To be honest the best pair I currently have are some Aldi Crane Pro ones which have been brilliant until I came off on a newly stone dressed road on an audax this weekend.

Is anyone aware of any current makes/models with a zip?

Not sure if they’re still current but my Endura bib tights have zip.
I am often asked, what does YOAV stand for? It stands for Yoav On A Velo

I can't help with any bib tights recommendations, but I can recommend trying not to fall off your bike.

Apparently not falling off, can help you go quicker, avoid pain and also avoid damage to your kit :demon:

I think the real problem you’ll find is that this is not the time of year to be buying bibtights. My Kalf ones have a zip in the front but a quick look at Evans shows they’re not currently stocking any Kalf bibtights, either with or without a zip. Summer gear all the way.

Gore do winter bib tights with a zip down the front.

I love mine and wear them from zero to fifteen degrees.

I'm sure they are fine below zero - but I'm not a fan of black ice or salt!

I've got a pair of winter bibs with zip that came from Decathlon some years ago - might be worth a look to see if current models are any use.

Don't trust Decathlon's sizing charts though. According to them I'm a full 10cm inside the upper limit of small and ended up (after several reorders and returns) getting XL.

I fully condede that I have a little more belly than i used to but at 5'6" and 10 stone I think XL is a little absurd.

For all that though they do seem to be decent tights for the price. Albeit I've not had them long.

I think that may be down to personal preference for fit - I'm taller and heavier than you, and prefer Medium. They're snug, but I find the Large that bit baggy despite that being where I fit in the size guide.

Didn't get the small beyond my thighs which are not Hoyesque. The mediums just managed but felt like the seams were going to pop.

The large were just about wearable but as I had XL in the same delivery and they were slightly more comfortable...
