Well we just survived the first fostering of a wonderful border collie, a four month old monster. Peli, without much twisting of my arm, talked me into being a foster. We signed up and got home checked by
Pendle Dogs in Need and
Aireworth Dogs in Need, both rescues in our area.
Sunday the 28th of Dec, we spotted a call out for a foster home for Otis. We said yes we can help, even before we saw the photos. He got dropped off on the 29th after a trip to the vet and some puking in the car.
It took him two-three days to open up and then his real character came out, and what a right old monster he is, said in a very endearing way. Tilley took some time to figure out who he was, but when he opened up there was no stopping them playing about. Never got mental, but we had to give them time-outs or else the house would fall down.
Peli did some clicker training and quick as a flash he picked it up. The new owners got some work to do but easy work if they keep on top and don't let him get bored. But that is what collies do and are and they got a few collies in their families so they know what they are in for.
So a week later we handed the little rascal over to them. We are going to miss him and the house is rather empty and quite quiet right now.
Here he is, or was:
