^^^ That's something to do with ' English "fops" ' - though I daresay the vernacular was somewhat more colourfully intended than that!  :o ;D

Yeah, it's in the same vein as: Come home to a real fire, buy a cottage in Wales.  ;D

Or, as the b3ta "honest advert" once said:

Wales: the small wet country.  With some hills.

Damn those Welsh giving all of their villages the same names.  We must have passed 15 called "Araf" on the way here too...

When my Gran first moved to Wales, she thought that A. R. Werth was an estate agent.

I've just spent a week on an island with similar signs all the way round it -

Let's not forget the similar signage on the NCN.   I need to go back here and take some better photos (at the time I was interested in small pictures to improve web page loading)

Zoomed in.

Sittingbourne.  2.25 miles by road, 5.25 by NCN.

Trust you to pick an example that reflects well on the NCN.

What about the "Sittingbourne 14 3/4 miles" one round the corner?
It is simpler than it looks.

Whose route would that be then?  O:-)
