Now I've got around to taking a photo of my commuter.

This gets used for commuting, trailer pulling, touring (once) and it's the winter trainer too.

Heavy Tange frame (possibly an SJS cycles training frame, possibly not). Crappy parts from upgrades of other bikes. Time for some new wheels soon, those rims are probably getting thin. Downtube levers, non-indexed 8 speed.

All those other bikes are far too clean.

Do I win?

Are those barnacles?  :o

If I were you I'd keep the bike in a shed rather than the sea.

I'll let the cow muck build up a bit more before I take a picture of the MonstaThorn in mucky mode.

Well, they said if you get a bike it will help build up your mussels..

These are best Wiltshire freshwater mussels, fresh from the Kennet and Avon canal.

The chainset/BB was even worse.

I bought this bike from Halfrauds initially cos I wanted the groupset as the whole thing was cheaper than buying seperately ,thought proces then dictated it was a shame having frame and wheels doing nowt so I put flat bars and a triple group all from cheap bits and bobs (the shifters were a bit dear )I either had or aquired cheaply .Its fairley bomb proof although a tad heavy .I use it for winter dark night rides or going to supermarket and its quite good fun.

Necrothread! :D

Here's my latest acquisition, a Raleigh thing. It lives outside, getting rusty (I only brought it inside to fettle mudguards and rack, because it was too cold/dark/wet outside). It's purple and heavy, but it's got "Energiser seat stays" and "Powerblade forks"! Wow! ;D

Does that say 'enigma' or 'smegma' on the top tube?  :o

Is either or both appropriate?  ;D
VELOMANCER

Well that's the more blunt way of putting it but as usual he's dead right.

I believe it's 'Enigma'. But it's going to be christened 'Smegma' from now on,I think! :D

You need a top-tube sticker that says 'Dave Lister' in that case :)

This thread has inspired me to go to the local bike recycling place and build a single speed
