IE shortcut on desktop/toolbar IE7

Really dunb question     I need to put the IE shortcut on my wifes IE7 desktop, and on the toolbar at the bottom - and I can't remember how to do it, so could someone help please? Thanks in advance.

You can just navigate via My Computer to Programmes, find (perhaps down two levels of folders) IE, then right click on the IE icon and select "send to desktop”.Then, from the desktop, you can drag that shortcut you’ve made to the toolbar and that will make a copy of it there. Right click on the desktop shortcut to rename it, if preferred.
