Elgar Drive around 7:40 then!
You are in a maze of twisty flat droves, all alike.

I guesstimate 8:45 at The Wagon & Horses, given the 24km distance from Elgar Drive to Braintree Station.

Great fun last night, I do love the Flitch Way in the dark!  The pub was nice too.

Oh dear, you're going to regret this ... in a good way  :D

By the way, if anyone fancies doing a 200 DIY by GPS on Easter Monday let me know.  I appreciate many of you will be recovering from the Easter Arrow.

1] Hello and welcome, Birdman....

2] I'm hoping to do some sort of RECOVERY ride on Easter Monday - I've  contacted the Flitch chaps to organise something and so it'll be about 30 miles for me, then more chocolate!

More on my 200k DIY plan.  A few weeks back Tomsk gave me this book ...

... and its absolutely lovely - thanks very much  :-*

After an early start I am planning to ride up to Suffolk and follow this route, and then ride back to Colchester station - hopefully the trains will be running.  If not I will ride home.

Looks like the new members were frightened off last week, they're just being polite now. Very astute people I think.

Station Arms is good.  We can easily work out a route if folks agree.  You also mentioned The Viper at Mill Green - another cracking boozer.

I have family stuff next Wednesday so won't be out on two wheels.
Just a thought and maybe word of caution for the relative newbies is the distance of homeward bound ride for far flung destination refreshment locations, when that departure usually starts at 11pm - getting back on the same day is not normal  ::-)

^^^ Good point.  Perhaps Southminster might be a better destination for warmer evenings.  The Viper might be more sensible.

The Viper is an equally distance challenging ride home and has Chelmo to negotiate too, just saying, don't bother me cos I'm not going to be there  :P

So it looks like The Cats (*) via TMNH next Wednesday.  Is that OK with everyone?

(*)  Although I have been to The Cats many times I have no problems going again as I love the place.

  (assuming mrs_o hasn't booked anything for next Weds that I don't know about)

One of the Cats newcomers should ask Wally for a large coke and a glass of rosé wine.  :demon:
