Crappy British roads.  Just got back and need to eat.  Hope you all have a good evening.  Other than this weekend’s 600 I’m not back around until early July.

You missed a treat. We discussed a scenario whereby it was entirely appropriate to strip jibers naked and cover him in baby oil. More to follow…

Does any of you good people know if the Leather Bottle in Pleshey is open at the moment? I've seen suggestions on FB that it isn't.

It’s kind of a moot point. Since they got rid of the Formica topped tables and general air of shitness it became “just another pub” so one could be forgiven for not caring anymore.

It is undergoing some building work, with scaffolding up etc and I believe it maybe “between landlords”.  When I cycled by last night at circa 9pm, it had a sign outside saying they were open as usual but it looked to be closed.  That’s not a lot of help, sorry.  I pass through Pleshey pretty regularly so will try and remember to check next time.

I will be riding to the Anchor in Nayland to meet adamski tomorrow evening. Will probably be setting off about 7pm for the approx 1hr 45min ride there and leave at the 10pm chucking out time, if anyone wishes to do likewise.

Plans for this Wednesday? I don't have anything on to mess with plans this Wenesday. Central location or maybe going forrin again (since I suggested it then ducked out last week) or perhaps Westerners Go Forrin: a Hertfordshire venue?

I may have a pass for tomorrow evening, so if there's a Western breakaway or somewhere reachable I will try to meet up.

This sounds great but I’ve gone full forrin and am in Manchester tomorrow.

Tomorrow evening I'm packing the final few things ready for South Africa ... hopefully, assuming a new bottom bracket arrives on schedule this afternoon and I can fit it this evening, otherwise I may be bike fettling instead.

I was thinking of the Queen's Head, Allens Green or the Prince of Wales at Green Tye, but the Rising Sun in High Wych is a bit more Bernster friendly. Any others of the western contingent available?

Happy with any of the above if people are keen, they're all a good distance
