I am ashore this evening.

Swan @ Totham or Kings Head @ Tollesbury are fine choices.

I'm not out tonight (famous last words!) as I am recovering from a reoccurance of my rear issue...

Let's aim for the King's Head.

My eta will be about 8.45pm

Jiber's posterior probably weighs about as much as you though so it may not be an entirely scientific assessment.

I think that and the heat just made an emerging problem worse... I've some stuff to try and ease it and a referal back to the consultant who climbed inside and went fixing last time, kind of hoping the stuff will work its magic but I suspect it wont heal without medical intervention

The King's Head in Tollesbury is a definite keeper. Three of us enjoyed the friendly pub which didn't call last orders until 22:50 and had four hand pumps on the bar at £3.80 a pint for well kept ale. A formula which has been hard to find of late!
That along with a mild still evening air made for a pleasant ride there & back.

Now thoughts turn to Saturday and the Essex R&R and A Little Essex R&R. Lots of entries no doubt buoyed by the prospect of good weather!
If anyone would like to lend a hand in the hall at check-in any time between 07:00 and 09:00 or between 13:00 and 23:00 you'll be welcome, duties will include refilling of tea & coffee pots and squash jugs, shovelling pizzas in & out of the oven, check-in desk relief and general chat.

What he said.

It was a shame we ended up with just the three of us.  It is becoming a bit of a trend.

One thing which we can do is put this thread back on track.

Many of you will remember the Great Schism of Autumn 2015 when the ACME Miscellany thread was started to accommodate witty badinage, off topic nonsense etc.

This thread was supposed to be for planning and roll calls.

Talking of which; who is out next week and where shall we go ?

Assuming the venue next Wednesday isn't miles away I could potentially come along.  I'm in London during the day so providing I get back in time I should be OK for 1930 launch from the Roundabout of Broken Dreams.  I don't have anything especially taxing scheduled for Thursday.

What I really need is a more accommodating lifestyle than the one which has sneaked up on me over recent years.  There is a meeting tomorrow which might help introduce some changes in 2024, my 61st year  :o

Back from wanderings up north. I'm about next Wednesday - looks like autumnal weather, (better get used to it and put on the big boys waterproofs for the next six months or so) ...

A central venue like the Cross Keys at White Notley? (Currently closes at 22:00 on Wednesday, I see.)

The 10pm thing is a bit of a bust.

I like the idea of supporting pubs that are staying open - as pubs.

The Hurdlemakers was strongly mooted on Saturday. That suits me, if I am out at all...the weather forecast is not encouraging me right now and I have an early start to That London Thursday morning, so I'm unlikely to be in attendance anyway.

How about Thursday instead? The forecast isn't too bad for the evening - dry-ish and much less windy!

I might be able to come out this week, weather permitting…
You can’t just call time out and stroll on into the beach if you don’t like the way things are goin’.

If I can do this week at all then I would much rather Thursday.

I'm having mechanical issues but ordering parts tonight so hopefully fix the issue tomorrow. If not I will need to spend more time on Thu fixing it so that its ready for Sat.

I can't do Thursday (for similar reasons to Jiber) and tonight does not look appealing.

I'd prefer Thursday from the look of the forecast for tonight.

Sounds like you need more bikes, then you'd have back-up options ...
