SO tried it for a few weeks and it was a blend of the retarded (who is making noise in the flat above me?) and passive-aggressive (same example suffices).  She gave up.

I genetically engineer my own triffids with CRISPR. Admittedly, at this point, they're only one centimetre tall, but I'm working on it. I may expose them to 5G radiation.

Won't that just give them teH coviD?

teH coviD is softening them up. Once they're down, I'll unleash my tribe of irradiated tiny triffids on the neighbourhood.

I have got sucked into Nextdoor. I used it recently to find a local bakery furm to bake a fancy birthday cake. Good to give business to a local firm.
Lots of discussions about local broadband issues, which I contribute to.

On the flip side I did have a long running threat with e racist woman. All the normal 'it was much better before the immigrants came here' stuff.

The main topic on ours (Kennington, London) currently is bitching about the day after day flying of police helicopters overhead (I guess the current pretext is the Extinction Rebellion protest). It is enough to drive anyone who still spends time in central London away. No chance of offices getting back to normal with them overhead!

I created an account. Logged in. Had a look around. Got bored. Logged out.
Tried to log in again - only to be given the following message: 'Couldn't find a Nextdoor account with that email address'.   ::-)

I look at ours about once a month to see if I’m missing anything. Once I’ve confirmed that I’m not, I then disable my account each time to completely eliminate unwanted emails.

Re your non-existent account, maybe you need to wait for some sort of account vetting to occur before your account is fully activated? I don’t know.

Just checked ours again:

When can I drive through Richmond Park again? (old one, that - it’s now at least as full of cars as it ever was during the week).

Why are cyclists not using these cycle paths? (“paths” referred to are in fact pavement-widening measures, and there are no fucking cycle paths).

And lots of requests for, and offers of, services.

The 20mph limits introduced borough-wide by Merton have been the source of a good deal of ranting.

Usual stuff.

I'm not sure that is the case - I received a load of 'Welcome Jurek' type messages.
I don't think it is something I'm going to lose sleep over.

Anyway, to alleviate my boredom, I've traced the image on their homepage, using triangulation of the buildings on the skyline (proper LFGSS/BToB stylee) down to Spitalfields City Farm.

The google maps pic is from 2013 - Which is why Principal Tower residential skyscraper doesn't feature in it.

I really do need to go back to work.

I liked The Spy Flower and the Nightime Back Door Pounding. The bin heisting raccoons. Their neighbourhoods are more exciting than mine.

Of course, there's the temptation to make my neighbourhood more exciting.

Curiosity got the better of me.
Various things made me think "bollocks to this" and promptly deleted the account I'd just created.

haha - I joined ours today out of curiosity and I am very disappointed.....  I was expecting full on cesspit...  :(

Perhaps I should post about the old dear over the road who put's his recycling cans out at 00:30 on a Wed morning quite loudly just to get things moving.... not that it's a problem for me, but it's the principle... etc....

I’ve not yet deleted the account I created yesterday out of curiosity. That’s mainly because I CBA to log back in again.
For every complex problem in the world, there is a simple and easily understood solution that’s wrong.

I've been on it a couple of years, but left yesterday. The nuggets of usefulness were massively outweighed by the turdpile of mediocrity, laziness and self-promotion. A distinct lack of moderation compounded all that.

People are horrified that there's a new mobile phone mast going up. How do they think the things work?

I've done some looking into this and the mast is going here in a space where many moons ago there was a phonebox. People are getting very excited about it narrowing the pavement, except, there's a fence there that already does to the same extend, and no angry villagers demanding it be torn down.

(And yes, that is the Spaced house in the distance)
