Tagging Photos - GPS + Mac
« on: 01 March, 2010, 06:59:37 pm »
Following on from this post I have just been investigating adding GPS tags from my Garmin 705 to photos taken with my DSLR.

I used the 705 on a walk I did with the kids in October in NW Scotland. It was mainly to provide us with a routing mechanism if the cloud came down.

I've just used GPSPhotolinker for OSX to tag the master image files from the GPX track the 705 produced and this is the result in my photo managing app. I click on a pin and the photos taken there are selected:

Brilliant. Meshing technology. No GPS enabled camera required. (just have to remember to take the 705 with me and set it to log!)

It is simpler than it looks.
