Unfortunately I’m not around on Wednesday, job interview in Cardiff.

I should have known, sets us off to a pub that's a 100km round trip and then ducks out by emigrating to Wales

Shocking isn’t it?!?

No, not really, you've got form for this sort of thing.

Just make sure you get the job.

Cardiff isn’t really Wales. You should take the opportunity to visit Port Talbot or Caerphilly whilst you’re there, give the locals a sense of what they might expect from their new emigre

For clarity, I’ve been to Wales lots of times, even living there for 2 summers as a younger man. What I meant was I haven’t been there for a job interview.

Yeah, and you're not a young man frolicking about in the summertime anymore.

At the risk of putting this thread back on topic, I might be up for an EER outing this Wednesday.

You're such a spoilsport ted.

But, if you insist, yes an Eastern region rendezvous would be a good idea.

Name your pub!

Ok, the other one up the road, The Olde Albion probably has the best beer.

That's fine then - unless the Strangler could be tempted out by something a bit closer to the station or the eastern part of the town....

Popped into the Boar's Head this evening on my way home - cask ales are Adnams Ghost Ship and Fullers London Pride. The car park immediately round the back [thru gate, not the Co-op/public car park] should have room for bikes - the beer garden is up a few steps at the back and might be a bit small to get bikes and smokers in ...

The olde albion would work but will need to leave at 10pm for train assist. Would -8.30pm be too early for meet up?

Thank you for the heads-up.

Not sure what the numbers will be like this week, but I'm able to get there by 8:30pm if others will be too.

Thanks - first time I've had a cold in 3 years (=since cycling all year round) Therefore I must cycle more often - once I can breath again....
