30mm tyres fitted to Mavic MA 40

Is it sensible to fit 30mm tyre to hardly used  Mavic MA 40 rims

I use to do so regularly. The current fashion says no. Tyre pressures will have to stay within a smaller ‘Goldilocks’ range to avoid problems.

I've even fitted 43mm tyres on MA 40's. But don't overuse them, they are getting very rare nowada

 Littlewheelsandbig  & Ivo Thanks for the replies . It's a bit of an experimenter . On my old Joe Waugh randonneur bike. I can only fit  "smaller" sized 25mm tyres under the mudguards . So I have removed the mudguards and plan to have a nice old comfortable bike for dry, high days & holidays. When riding on crappy potholed chip & seal back roads .
