Can anyone tell me where Kerks is?

Knowing this will influence my consideration of joining.

TIA

Kerks has something of a reputation, although I've never been. The Fell club is great. They are the provisional wing of the CTC/C&CC. They complain at any site costing more than £3 per night, don't accept Children or motorised transport and wear socks and shimano sandals to a man (or woman, although these are rare). Join - it's really cheap, and you can always not renew if you don't like it.  :)

Kerks has something of a reputation,

Would you like to elaborate :-\

wear socks and shimano sandals

That'll suit me then.I own both & have been known to use them :o

btw...are you able to contribute something to my thread relating to Solar Panel battery chargers?  IIRC you were using some at Mildenhall et al..

. They are the provisional wing of the CTC/C&CC.

Kerks is in Coal Aston just outside Dronfield in North Derbyshire. It is about the same equa-distance from Chesterfield and Sheffield.

The reputation of Kerks is one of a very basic site which is very welcoming. There is a bunk-house (not the Ritz) which has some facilities for tea making, cooking and sleeping. The camping area is very good, grass is good and there is good shelter from winds.

As Butterfly says join us and if you don't like it leave at the end of the year. It will cost you a £5 and in the time you will get 5 newsletters.

The website is at: Home Page

Butterfly you exagerate. It is now £4 per night and I don't wear socks.  ;)

As we say on the meets page, just let them know you are going to be there. In the winter months you may only find a few real hardy folk go.
