I believe some of you may know Bob Friend as an audax veteran. 

I’ve just heard the sad news that he was killed while out on his bike locally a couple of days ago. He was 93.

He was in the news a few years ago (when he was 86) because he had cycled to hospital and his bike was nicked while he was there.

I’m pretty sure he rode some of my Audaxes in West Kent.

+1. It's a sad thing to reach that age and then be killed by some bugger in a bloody car.

The article makes no suggestion as to whether there was any fault, so I think we should wait and see.  It's certainly very sad.
