Gravel before the Romans! 200 @ 07:00

Wye Gravel? 120 @ 07:30

Both head over the Severn Bridge and into the Wye Valley, using the old railway path recently opened to Tintern. It uses Tidenham Tunnel which is a no light zone; no exceptions - it is a condition of its use for the bat license. The 200 then heads up the valley on the road whilst the 120 uses a bridleway adjacent to the river before both use the railway again to Redbrook. Use the Peregrine Path to Biblins for the Tea Gardens.

The 120 then sets off over the hill back into the Wye Valley before clambering out on road then using forest tracks and byways before returning across the bridge. The 120 gravel is a bit more gnarly than the 200 with one big ascent, a couple of descents.

The 200 continues along the Wye to Symonds Yat and north round the Forest of Dean crossing the Severn Valley. Two gert #wills_hills into the Cotswolds for afternoon tea at Guiting Power's Old Post Office. Then return joining the Roman Fosse Way which is gravel in large parts before dropping down from The Cotswolds and back to the arrive. Most gravel on this route is on the flat and well trodden, literally along the Fosse...
