Sheer Heart Attack

I like their little known excursions into industrial techno sung in German.

Ah yes, the record that gives one an unaccountable urge to annexe Czechoslovakia  :D

I find that listening to Rammstein's industrial noise has that kind of effect on me. ;D

Rhyming "universe" with "one of us" is the act of a madman.  Even Boney M couldn't have got away with that.

A Day at the Races.  But there are plenty of contenders, from the frankly ludicrous Queen II (Ogre Battle!) to the barely-listenable The Works - I don't think I've ever sat through "Is this the World We Created" without cringing.

But I love 'em all.  I'll have to do some shopping, though - there are a few of those I've only got on tape, including the two I probably listened to most (excepting the Greatest Hits albums) - Innuendo and The Miracle.  Eighties child, me.

I have all of them on vinyl, and some of them on CD. I need to get the rest on CD.

I have no idea what is on which album, and I can't even remember the names of my favourite tracks, but I do know that when a decent Queen song comes along, it is impossible not to sing and dance and rejoice.

The alternative Greatest Hits compilation goes something like:

Doing All Right
Liar
Nevermore
Stone Cold Crazy
Flick of the Wrist
In the Lap of the Gods... Revisited
Love of My Life
Take My Breath Away
Teo Torriatte
Spread Your Wings
Dead on Time
Save Me
Hammer to Fall
The Show Must Go On

No edits, no 7 inch versions. I'll put that on CD for in the jamjar . . .

I'd buy that.

A Day at the Races.
That's my favourite too. Let's work out who the other yacfer is who likes that one best and be a club.  ;D

A club sounds good - we could organise a day out at the races ;D

That alternative-best-of needs Tie Your Mother Down, BTW.

Tie Your Mother Down has been played to death IMHO, I don't like it. I was going to include Lily of the Valley but, as I like to sing along, I decided against 'cos it would have required much more than the truss!

By the by I had a serious go at The Show Must Go On once at a karaoke. What a mistake! I don't think there's a song that required more of Freddie's vocal range - and if there is I don't want to try . . .

A Kind of Magic was a breeze by comparison.

I can't think of anyone who could carry that song off as well as Freddy, except maybe the late Ronnie James Dio, but it wouldn't be the same.

Never will there be the like of Freddie Mercury again. He had immense talent. A true entertainer and showman.

I really need to go to stormtroopersinstilettos   - enough that I think I might book an early Saturday train down and come back the same day.

Yeah! I could go a bit of that, too.
