Well, seeing as air resistance varies with the velocity squared, it would make sense to consider acceleration at different velocities.

Velo Fixe / Re: N+1 = Spa Audax Mono

I've been experimenting with single speed, because, why not: But I really miss fixed - so it's flipped back to fixed, and the flats replaced with SPD pedals.

I'll try again when I'm able to ride long distance again as I suspect I'll really enjoy single speed on some long rides.

Every time I lift the mono, it feels light as a feather: My geared bikes are 2 and 3 kg's heavier.

Well that was a good exciting race. 6 different winners from 5 different teams over 8 stages, which is good.

Flipped the Mono from single speed back to fixed gear. The plan was to try single speed for a year - but I miss fixed too much. I'll try again when I'm able to do long rides once more.

Great stuff  :D

What we really want to know, Del, is how many tape measures, hunting knives, tenners and bungee cords you found on your ride with Blodwyn Pig!?

I watched a AvE YouTube video on the release of his view collective designed snap-off blade utility knife. Unfortunately the postage from canukstania wasn’t silly money (even if the knife _might_ have been).

Guess what I’m awaiting the delivery of!

Wow, that price!  :o Looks very good though.

Does anyone have recommendations for slightly cheaper utility/Stanley-type knives? Mine is rubbish, and I'd like something a little more heavy duty.

I've got two and they are both ancient.  I inherited them, and then bought a spare on ebay.

Stanley 199 (non retractable), can be found for about 12 quid on ebay
Stanley 99e (retractable) - I have two of these, the new version is about 8 quid from Toolstation.

Non snap off blades, but spares are cheap enough.

All

There are only a handful of spaces available now on my Hailsham Venta 300 event.

Spaces are still available on the Hailsham List 200 event.
