Fancy dress ideas - theme is Latin American Fiesta

I have a fancy dress party to attend, the theme for which is Latin American Fiesta. My ideas extend to sombreros and tequila, which is frankly pathetic. I need some awesome ideas. Go!!

I've never heard of a piñata before, but it sounds like a silly idea. However, being beaten by a baseball bat would be bad. Ladies beating me with other things would be acceptable  .

If the party gets boring, you can move the sideburns to eyebrows, and, with the cigar, you're set for Rufus T Firefly (in Duck Soup)!

Being 'party intolerant' I would opt for non-attendance and go and have a good time somewheres else.

If you 'have to' then go as Che Guevara during his wanderings - 'The Motorcycle Diaries' It's easy, camo & leather.

And remember, longer than 10 or 15 minutes in, if anyone is the tiniest bit interested in your costume then they really don't understand parties . . .

Cheers for the ideas. In the end, I went with the Castro idea after finding the perfect hat in a charity shop, from which I also managed to create an awesome beard. Photos will not be appearing (sic).
