Lucky sods.

Sorry mate.  Muchos commiserations.

In your honour, chief, Tomsk and I dragged ourselves out on our bikes and forced pints of Wherry, Oscar Wilde and Adnams down.  just got back now.  The rain held off and I don't think it descended to the threatened 2C.

There is still snow on parts of the verges between Youngs End on the Great Slamsey's road and Littley Green though, which surprised me.

So, Wednesday's ride is at the Axe and Compasses, Aythorpe Roding.  What route are the Witham contingent looking to cycle on?  Howe Street sits pretty much on the straight line between Witham and Aythorpe Roding so I may just tuck in behind your slipsteams if you are passing  :-*

People are more than welcome to park/ride out from mine if that helps their logistics -  I'll ensure the kettle is on

I should be good to go this Wednesday.  I am happy to plot a route or happy to follow.  Oaky, are you out this Wednesday?

Sadly not:  mrs_o is out on Wednesday night so I'm in looking after the Acorns.

My route therefore will involve me on the Felt facing east and pedalling like mad for an hour before climbing off whilst still in my kitchen.

Big shame.

In which case the route I plotted earlier that passes through Howe Street will come into play. Chief, PM me your address and I will swing by for you if that's ok.

I shan't be with you tonight. However I shall be in Witham tomorrow morning for another purpose so watch out for a Recumberating Woman (I shall park on some quiet road near the station and then cycle on from there).

Just got back. 39.62 miles, should have gone round the block to get the full 40.  Smashing ride.

I rode to chief's house from where we set off with Tomsk. A head wind made the ride hard work. The Axe and Compasses was very good as was the beer and chat. Mrs Tomsk turned up and joined in.

Me and chief returned alone, now with a tail wind.

This was only my second proper ride this year so my legs are sore this morning.

chief and Tomsk, crisps and beer ...

Nice one - wish I could've joined you.  I'm miles, beer and crisp deficient so far this month.

Utter tragedy. We did discuss your recent change in circumstances and undertook to be as supportive as we possibly could. What you're going thru is cruel and unusual. You're being very brave and we, your friends, are there for you.

I won't be out this Wednesday, I hope to be riding with the Pompey crew.  However ...

Just before Christmas I bought some beer from The Mighty Oak Brewing Company in Maldon.  It would appear I am now on their mailing list as today some bumph arrived.  They do evening brewery visits for groups of between 15 and 30.  Are there another 14 people who'd like to come along?

P155-up in a brewery?  I'm up for that, work etc. permitting.

Anybody coming out to play this Wednesday?  Destination is the Compasses at Pattiswick (aka pub #1 on the outward journey to the FYBO camping trip).

Yup, I'm up for a brewery tour. Long ago I went on a tour of the Ridley's Hartford End Brewery organised by St Mary's Church in Dunmow. A very jolly and interesting experience, but not especially spiritual!
I can't make the outing this week but the following one is looking ok. The half term week might be getting a bit busy too.

Proving the weather is suitable I'll be up for tomorrow evening.

Yes to the tour O.D

You pussies!  It was an ideal opportunity to do some more trespassing!  I am looking forward to my evening out with Hummers and co. It looks like it's going to be very wet so I might forsake the denim Rainlegs in favour of full waterproof trousers - shame.
