Hedgehogs are back (or at least one is). It's been visiting for about a week now.
I'm impressed that you're able to distinguish your hedgehogs individually.

A few bluebells are out today   :)

We have a whole woodland full of them nearby, but it usually always a week or two ahead of the other local woodlands,

It's got  a distinctive white mark on its posterior. Last year I didn't realise there was more than one until two appeared at once and had a fight on camera.

There's a gorgeous cherry tree in blossom about ten houses down the street: pink and white flowers on one tree.

Yesterday was the first day of the year when the central heating didn't come on at all.

It’s all happening now. Both pear and apple blossom. Loads of pulmanaria, which the bees love. And signs of a mild winter, we have wasps already. Plus butterflys, peacocks, small whites, orange tips, small blues. Oh, and the blue tits are scoping out the nest box.

Sparrows ripping all the fluff off the pampas grass for their nests.

It's got to that stage where I'm having to delayer when going outside and then relayer inside.

Yep.  Several degrees colder downstairs than outside for most of today.

Two swallows near Bolts Farm, Barling, followed 45 minutes later by a peal of thunder.

Does that mean that summer is over?

A crow hopping about on the lawn this morning with what I suspect was a pigeon's egg in its mouth. Also a dead shrew on the doorstep. A victim of one of the local moggies I imagine.

My younger son has just arranged for a nest full of ferrets to be removed from the base of his woodshed. They have gone to a wildlife sanctuary. Mother & 13 newborns.

So far this year I've seen three shirtlessmen: two walking over Prince St Bridge and one sunbathing on a bench.

The house martins are back! First sighting this morning.
I think you'll find it's a bit more complicated than that.

I heard but did not see a cuckoo whilst out for a run the day after St George's day.  I can't remember the last time I heard a cuckoo, but then I am usually on roads at this time of year in the middle of all my long Audax rides rather than being far from tarmac, which seems to be where our local cuckoos hangout.

For the last week or so the local bats have been giving a fine aerobatic display outside our living room window. It's always a very cheery sight.
