Karen,
It is an MTB.
It has twist grip shifters and slick tyres at present.  7 speed by three chainrings.

OK.  I like twist grip shifters.  However I feel the need for a traditional looking tandem, to contrast with the two tandems already in the stable (the three wheeled one and the folding one).

I feel a spot of shed rearranging coming on.  Must get rid of that lawnmower :)

Arrived at work with a MASSIVE grin on my face. We took Sam to work first on the Tandem this morning, which is 2.6 miles door to door, then I rode it back home Solo, which is fine because I my work is in the direct opposite direction. Switched onto my own bike (a fixie) and now I'm at work and can't wait to do the reverse going home.

Despite the cold wind and rain, the ride could not have been any better. It's great getting to spend the extra time together too.

Hi All,

First posting on here so please be gentle

Karen-Santos are definately not related to Dawes, Santos are a Dutch bike company and very well respected in the Netherlands.

Best Wishes,
Buit.

OK Buit,
I got confused, thinking a picture of a Santos belonging to one forummer had been posted by another who had bought a Dawes. Silly me!

Welcome to the Forum anyway. :)

Thanks Buit.  I was also looking at the Dawes Discovery, (like Dan's), but felt they were a bit small.  Then I found a lovely Lee Cooper tandem in the Tandem Club classifieds, so I bought that.

Cheers
