Thank you for that; a good read with some chuckles. The part about innuendo reminded me of the following from a Mr Kenneth Horne, not of North Wales.

"Reverend Sidney Goosecreature has written to us complaining that he noticed a double entendre in last week's programme. I can assure the good Reverend that if we had spotted such a thing, we would have whipped it out and blue-pencilled it immediately"

The news sent me hunting for my copy of his wonderful Lyttleton's Britain, which I last looked at a few years ago. Sadly, Mrs Redlight recently re-arranged the books to suit her own incomprehensible version of the Dewey system. I know it's there somewhere, but it may be some months before I actually find it.  ???

What colour is the spine?

That might help if the books are arranged into a 'Zoom' rainbow?
It is simpler than it looks.

Are you sure Mrs RL didn't drop it off pre-Covid to the free bookshelf at either your local station or mine? I've just found a copy I didn't know I had, and those shelves are the most likely source ... Welcome to borrow it, obviously once I've read it though!

(And blue is the colour of my true love's spine ... At least in hardback.)

Very sad news. He produced more guffaws out of me than I had a right to expect of anybody, having been listening to ISIHAC since it started.

It's more likely to have found its way into the Age Exchange book sale (...unless, of course, I lent it to you  ;D).

BTW, you should pop along to my street next time you need something to read. We've taken collective ownership of the disused BT phone box and have converted it into a Book Exchange.

How much capacity remains on the shelves?

While, unlike my wife, I do not recognise the concept of too many books, I've been forced to concede that I have (considerably) more than we really have space for ..

Just dwell on memories of Samantha and her extra-curricular activities .  . . and you'll feel better.

Does this mean that old copies of ISIHAC will soon hit the airwaves again as obituary?  I must look for my recording machine.

Seeing as the OP was back in February, I suspexct any on air obituary type broadcast may have already happened.

Only the introductory remarks and the links, I think. The cast had notice of some of the games but their contributions were not scripted.

I think Humph's outros. were probably scripted, too.  It was as near a perfect show as we're likely to get, I think.  RIP and thanks.

I'm not quite so sure - having been to about 9 or 10 recordings going back to Humph's day they certainly look as if a good deal of the content is scripted, or at least each panellist has copious notes.  The intros and outros from the Chairman were undoubtedly scripted.  But there's nothing wrong with that.

And the laser-display board was a sight to behold.

It was always Samantha with whom I was most smitten at the live shows.
