They're not making the inbred any more!
« on: 25 October, 2017, 08:22:57 pm »
Got an email today from the folk at planet X/on one and they're stopping making the inbred. May just be 26" version haven't actually watched the video yet. This made me a bit sad as currently have  probably one of the first inbreds which I have converted to drop bars and fitted with pannier rack.

Also made me think is 26" pretty much dead for MTB.

Not as long as I keep mending 'em . . .

Well that's the more blunt way of putting it but as usual he's dead right.

Isn't the 456 kind of the newer version of the Inbred? Think it was originally branded as the Inbred 456. Though it seems its now only available in 650B. I'm sure it would work fine with 26" wheels if you wanted, especially for fatter sizes

More shocking, they're not making any singlespeed mountain bikes any more! That was how On-One become popular.

They should really change their name in that case!
Life is too important to be taken seriously.

IIRC the 456 was more set up for longer travel forks then the inbred. Torslanda do you mean fixing the inbreds or just 26" wheel bikes. I'm fairly fond of my one despite/because it certainly shows signs of use and despite being on slicks does a reasonable job off road

And that stalk book memory thing tells me that my one came into my possession 10 years ago this week.

I think the slot dropout Inbred (the one you need for fixed, and preferable for s/s) has been gone a while.
