Lets face it life, must have been a bit more boring when the Puritans were doing their thing. Now we have politicians to maintain our depression and other Shibboleths.

I'm not sure if championing Laurie Anderson counts as iconoclasm per se...

ETA - strictly speaking, iconoclasm is about assailing cherished beliefs, rather than simply offering an opinion that's out of left-field.

Of course, YMMV.  ;)

China Mieville writes shit books.

That's all I can think of for now.

I'd say it's iconoclastic in the sense that there is a lot of religiosity attached to football, with star players being practically venerated as living saints, rival teams and their players being ritually execrated, and so on. :demon:

It predates religion in that its tribal. It engenders a sense of belonging that has disappeared from most people’s workplaces and their communities.

I don't think drug-taking winners should be expunged from cycling's records.  An asterisk would be sufficient.

These are just truisms. Marmite is actually harvested from between the toes of people with a flamboyant disregard for personal hygiene.

I'm not sure anyone can get through China Mieville's turgidly over-descriptive prose. It's like chewing your way through a ocean liner made of cheese.

Craft beer in cans is not a better way to preserve the brew enabled by modern canning technology.  It is simply a means to charge more for less beer.

George Ezra.  What bollocks is this?  Lyrically speaking he's up there with a Rowtrees Randoms advert or the protestations of our cat on being shut out of the bedroom.  He has a breifly fashionable tone of voice.  And.  That.  Is.  All.

I disagree. A stage racer should be at least competent at all facets of road racing. I'm not interested in watching racing if it is only about power/weight measurement or aero tweaks.
